On Thursday 1st May, Amanda Perrotton delivered an insightful presentation on Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) and wider property-related tax issues to members of the Derby and District Law Society. The session was kindly hosted at the Smith Partnership offices in Derby.

This presentation forms part of our ongoing national initiative to provide timely tax updates to conveyancers and property solicitors across the UK. As Amanda reminded attendees, solicitors must be cautious not to cross the line into giving tax advice particularly in complex or high-stakes cases. That’s where we come in.

Amanda’s sessions are designed to inform, support, and ultimately empower legal professionals to know when to refer their clients to qualified tax advisers. By working in partnership with conveyancers, Bell Howley Perrotton ensures that clients receive the comprehensive guidance they need without putting the solicitor at risk.

The response to our sessions has been overwhelmingly positive. Feedback from law firms and law society members up and down the country consistently rates Amanda’s presentations 5 out of 5 for content, value, and delivery. Her depth of knowledge, real-world examples, and ability to break down complex issues into practical takeaways are regularly praised.

If you're part of a law firm or a member of a branch law society and would like Amanda to visit your team to provide an update on Stamp Duty Land Tax and more, simply get in touch. We’d love to book you in.
