Amanda Perrotton is a Partner at Bell Howley Perrotton LLP, a solicitor with almost 30 years' experience and a full member of STEP (TEP).  Amanda is a member of the Stamp Taxes Practitioners Group and is widely recognised for her expertise in Stamp Duty Land Tax and private client taxation, regularly advising solicitors on complex residential and commercial transactions.

Amanda is a regular speaker and lecturer, delivering technical seminars and CPD training to solicitors, Law Societies and professional organisations throughout England and Wales. She is known for making some of the most technically challenging areas of tax law accessible and practical, helping professionals apply complex legislation and case law with confidence.

Working alongside Simon Howley, Amanda advises on matters where tax and law intersect. She is regularly instructed on transactions involving substantial family wealth, complex property structures, succession planning and significant tax risk. Much of her work comes from other professional advisers seeking specialist support on matters where the consequences of getting the advice wrong can be considerable.

People do not come to Amanda because the answer is easy. They come because the issues are complex, the sums involved are significant, or they have received conflicting advice. Amanda's role is to understand what her clients are trying to achieve, explain the available options clearly and help them make informed decisions with confidence.

Amanda enjoys solving complex problems that sit at the intersection of tax, law and family dynamics. Her approach is straightforward, practical and collaborative, and she believes clients should leave every meeting understanding both their options and the reasons behind her advice.

Her work regularly includes:

  • Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT), Land Transaction Tax (LTT) and Land and Buildings Transaction Tax (LBTT)
  • Trusts, estates and succession planning
  • Family Investment Companies and corporate restructuring
  • Wealth preservation and family governance
  • Complex property transactions and business structuring
  • Professional support and second-opinion advice for solicitors and accountants
