Donnacha is BHP’s Tax Assistant and works closely with Simon Howley on tax research, client support and the preparation of advice across the firm’s tax work.

He is currently studying for his Chartered Tax Adviser examinations and is developing his technical grounding under Simon’s supervision. His role supports the firm’s work across SDLT, property tax, private client and wider tax matters.

Outside BHP, Donnacha is a serious combat-sports competitor. He has represented Yorkshire in boxing and boxed for the Andalusia team against Gibraltar, winning his bout by unanimous decision. He also trains in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and is preparing for the IBJJF European Championships in 2027.

He brings the same discipline to tax: preparation, focus, pressure management and no appetite for waffle.
